Mada Group Selects Cloud Tech and Services to Manage its Investments and Operations
Today we announced The Mada Group, LLC has selected the Liquid platform to manage its investment processes and middle-office operations. Mada Group is a commodity trading advisor (CTA) that launched in 2014 and seeks to generate significant returns in the commodity futures space by deploying proprietary, quantitative and electronic investment strategies in the energy, agriculture and metals sectors.

"The team we put together collectively has more than 30 years of quantitative trading experience and has run highly successful investment teams at well-known firms including Millennium Partners," says Adam Hoffman, founder of The Mada Group. "With the launch of this business, I recognized the need for institutional infrastructure and outsourced operations which allow my team to focus squarely on delivering outsized risk-adjusted returns to our investors. Selecting Liquid assures that we will quickly be live on a scalable platform that delivers the breadth of real-time front-office capabilities we require today and will require as we continue to grow into a larger, more mature business. In addition, the operations team at Liquid will manage our middle-office, ensuring our portfolios are accurately priced for the start of each trading day."

Mada Group licensed our platform in its entirety to manage the firm's investment workflow which includes automating the allocation of positions to separately managed accounts (SMAs) in a compliant manner; stress testing the portfolio for changes in interest rates; and monitoring risks at both the portfolio and commodity level in real-time. Mada will also rely on our platform and managed services to satisfy investor reporting requirements, serve as the firm’s data custodian, and facilitate multi-broker reconciliations on a daily basis. As part of the Mada’s workflow, we will work closely with the firm’s existing EMS platform to ensure straight through processing of all trading activity into Liquid.

"We love working with launches such as The Mada Group, who have the pedigree and track record to build an attractive business," says Robert O’Boyle, EVP of Sales and Marketing at Liquid. "Our selection by and partnership with Adam and his team were driven by our ability to help simplify their success by delivering managed services and the front-office controls required to manage complex strategies across multiple fund structures in real-time, all-the-time, and everywhere – without the costs and operational challenges of legacy installed software."
